    CW relics.

I've been doing some research on a few of my finds, and I've found a lot of similar if not identical items on US civil war web sites. For example http://sgtriker.com/campitems.htm I'm thinking if you just add "civil war period" to the description of your items, you could double your asking...

    Seinfeld

Does anyone else find the TV show Seinfeld to be comforting? It takes me back to a time in my life that I now realise was worry free, and.....well just fun. It might just be my age, or it might prove that 911 really did change the world, or it might just be the stuff I've been drinking.

    My oldest find.

I found my oldest relic that I can put a date on. I must say when I found it, I thought I had found an ancient Roman coin  Any way it still turns out to be fairly old. It's a halfpenny token from the 1790s. Bottle & Less Taxes Norwich Conder Halfpenny Norwich (Norfolk) copper...

    A "What is it?"

I didn't think much of this at first, but the (handle?) seems to have purpose. Any ideas?

The most beautiful stone I've ever seen.

This opal looks amazing, looks like it has a nebula in side of it. Here is a link http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21032/lot/1403/ It's called an American contraluz opal found" in Opal Butte, Oregon. Sold for around 20k US.

    Any ideas on this?

I found these today, both from the same hole. I think they go together. Cheers - go the blues

Some finds turn out better than first thought.

On the weekend I took a mate out to a site I'd been detecting. While detecting I noticed a marble sitting on top of a recently dug hole. The rain the night before must have washed the dirt from it and made it visible. Its the second marble I've found at this site, the first one was cool but...

⭐ Treasure Hunting Show & Tell - Show us your favourite, oldest, best finds.

I'd love to see some of the members personal favourite finds, or hear about them. I had a real hard time picking mine, so I don't mind if you post more than one :) I personally love my two buttons the most, the intrigue if how they got where I found them, and the history they must have seen...

    Help me ID this metal.

Hey guys, I have found a few bits of this metal, at first I thought it was slag, so I just threw it in my junk box. It's non-magnetic, very heavy, and it's softer than steel but harder than lead. Any ideas? Cheers Stoney.

    Today's new finds

Hey guys, just back from some relic hunting. First stop was the 1800's site. I spent a couple of hours without much luck. Here's what I found. Second stop was on the same property, this site is from an old house dating to 1910 to around 1960. Here's my finds. Still unsure what coin I found...

    Rusty finds

Hi guys. No coins, rare buttons, or pendants today, just some rusty relics. I've decided to dig everything in the hopes of finding parts to a flintlock gun. So far I've found four different types of early bullets. My favourite find today would be the large belt buckle (bottom of pic) and the...

    Could it be??

Hey guys, I found this little black rock metal detecting. It gave a weak signal. I has a slight attraction to a normal fridge magnet (I don't have a neodymium magnet yet) And it also past the streak test. I know it's a long shot, but what should I do next? Can someone confirm it's just a rock...

    Firmins Naval button?

Hi guys, I found this today at my site. I can make out the letters "irmin" on the back of the badge. And after some searching I think it could be a firmins navy badge. I can see some gold plating on some parts, so I'm a little concerned about trying to clean it. I found this image that is...

    A nice find

Hey guys, I discovered my first good site, and what's even better is I learned about my family past in doing so. The site belonged to my first ancestor to arrive in Australia, Henry Angel. Turns out he had ties with Hume and Hovell. The site was Henry's homestead and existed between 1860's to...

    Late 1800's religious medallion

Hey guys, Wondering if anyone could give me any information on this one? All I know is that the site I found it dates back to the mid to late 1800's And I think it reads "precious remembrance if your faithfull" on one side. Cheers.
