    Gold in creeks in Victoria

Okay, come December 1 I am starting a research project and want some feedback. I plan to visit several smaller creeks in North and North East Victoria looking for gold. My questions to you are as follows: 1. Do all creeks contain gold? (Even just than one speck every pan). 2. What...

    Garrett Extreme

I like the ruggedness and obvious build to be "soldier proof". I, for one, am taken by the look. It is sleek, clean and pretty robust looking. Would be keen to see how it handles Victorian dirt. An interesting bit of kit. Still keen on the ATX though...

    AT-GOLD Night Setup :)

Nice set up nugget. Looks pretty sweet. How does your cap lamp go with reading the display? It's the only down side to the AT-Gold is that the screen isn't back lit.

    Hiding under a fallen tree

Nice work. The first guy to ever take me detecting and show me the ropes before sending me out on my own always used to say if you see a tree branch or log, move it. Chances are the guy before you didn't. Well done mate.

I'd have to agree: Prospecting is permitted in designated areas. Prospectors must hold a current Miner's Right. Refer to the Prospecting Area map for more information.

Amazed corporations can get away with this

You've also got to wonder how many detectorists are left after the "boom" of late? These surges can often equate to a fall in profit and therefore demand and subsequently loss of jobs. The trials and tribulations of big business I guess.

    MAP READING

If anyone ever wants assistance I can always lend a hand. Many years in the Military taught me well and I love to pass on my knowledge. If I get enough interest I could always hold a group learning on topo maps in Seymour or Bendigo. Let me know if you are interested.

EBay gold specimen looks BS '

Hmm, at the buyers peril I guess. Not a good looking piece, but nothing that can't be found in Oz. Just have to take your time. :-) I'll stick with my trusty AT.

What do you prefer - Leatherman or Gerber?

I'm a Gerber man personally. I have been using them for years. I have one on my belt, one in the car, one in the wife's car and a few other strategically placed.
