I found a nice specimen , wasnt sure if it had been picked up so looked with the loupe and can see smaller blue crystal have also grown ( as well as what looks like quartz/ zircon have formed as well)so pretty sure this is what these crystal have grown on , will check with my buddy to be sure...

Here's a couple of good ways to look for potential in your stone...my photography is not the best , but can give you an idea. White paper test ... Look for colour on the paper, or what comes through the stone. You can also use ( good for sapphire and dark stone) small mirror... You can...

Wondering what people find suits them on the magnifying field of view ? I'm using a Chinese 40+loupe and a megaview with the diff lenses , which I use the 4+ , looking at gemoro loupes .. Anybody got preferences ? Barney

Had a nice time out that way this weekend. Went to a place near there that was known for agates first , down wenham coxs road past a coal mine. The creek had no water , just cow crap. And seemed a bit difficult to get onto without trespassing . So gave ita miss . Found a couple of old mines...

Heading there for another family affair, saw some mines and whatnot on the gov site . Is there much area not on private property, if anyone knows? I know not that much was found there , but just a little nugget puts a smile on my dial. Any little tip would be nice, only have short time there...
