Sooo jealous of the photos here!

I used to be right into my vege garden having acreage until I become solo full time daddy and now its just the wasteland of weeds!!!

Still got a dozen fruit trees which are producing.

word of warning for anyone starting a lawn...lol

DO NOT put Couche grass down, not me but previous owner and its an invasive little bugger that gets in little nooks and crannies, under sleepers 600 high and even climb up under 1m beds!!!!!

AB you could solarise your beds if you don't want to chemically weed....
the video gives the basis of it.
I've solarized beds with dark plastic straight over the regrowth of weeds after wipper snipping for a couple of weeks.... then removed the plastic in the full sun heat of the day.... and that works fir me. In the video they use clear plastic and half a year lol.
The beauty is that the work is minimal for a great result on veggie garden beds:D

cept'n for this metre(roughly) section(closest bit)
this is where I spread mulched up grevillia leaves a while ago.... you can see that the need for nitrogen in the process to break down the grevillea leaves in the soil has a marked effect on the growth of the corn in that spot, by way of less available nitrogen for uptake by the corn plants.

Wife loves chilli on everything but I am hopeless. Even if I can ignore the burn I am like a distressed snail with mucus bubbles coming out everywhere :drooling: too embarrassing at a restaurant :8

Received 300 genetic champion paw paw seeds from America ( asimina triloba ) not papaya. Had to pay extra for quarantining. Wrong end of the year to sprout them but hopefully will get them to germinate before full on winter and will move them inside. They send down a long tap root so have put a lot of them into upside down 1.5lt water bottles which are nice and tall.

I am showing my age. This sort of stuff excites me now :playful:
