Broke the speccis up today & got a bit more:

The SDC is proving very handy on speccis in some very mineralised ground. Very good signals on them & as seen the host rock is far outweighing the gold so sensitivity isn't an issue. I feel it's only a matter of time in this area until I jag something with a bit with more gold in it, although I am more than likely picking up missed gold as the speccis have all been sunbakers. Time is the biggest killer at the moment & I am finding myself swinging a bit quicker than I should to cover ground in search of more speccis towards the end of the day. Can't wait to get a decent run at it out there & go a bit slower as I reckon I'm probably missing some other tiddlers by upping the tempo.
Still not a bad day for a quick trip & the SDC2300 is certainly continuing to impress me. Found 6 x 50c pieces down about 12" too. Jeez they were loud  Could've been a toilet coin spill  - not recent though

Only went out today as my old mate down the road got a lend of a GPX5000 & asked me to give him a hand with it. Got the required leave pass & headed out for a while. Got him set up & found a nice faint target for him so he knew what to listen for (wasn't gold 8.( ). I had taken my booster/speaker but he wanted to use the headphones & reckoned he was ok after the short run thru. So away he went & I grabbed the SDC to do a bit myself.
When we had a break I asked him how he was going. He said aaah no good - only got this bit of quartz that keeps setting the detector off  I said that'll have gold in it but he wouldn't believe me cause you couldn't see anything on the outside. Sure enough I gave it a hit with the pick & there was a nice bit of gold. Nothing huge - maybe close to a gram? Bit hard to tell without breaking it up more but we were stoked at his first bit of gold using a detector & only 2nd time using the 5000. Didn't get a pic of it unfortunately so this is the "tell" part from today. :D

Sounds like you had a great day out in the office mate. :) Bet your friend was tickled pink when you broke up that quartz,... and I'm sure he learnt not to disregard "Squarking Quartz" ever again.

Cheers Wal.

Thanks guys,
The smallest two were found with the Sadie, 15" * 12" mono found the largest at over 8" deep and the other two were found using the 11" commander Mono, I was just testing out coils and settings on an area that I had found.

Cheers
