One foot out the door
Ok, since lockdown has ended I've managed quite a few trips with the 6000 and the 11" Mono coil.
Touch wood, haven't blanked out on any trip so far, sadly (?) the largest piece has gone only a not so whopping 0.46g largest, quantity wise, 11 bits.
So, it's doing what the SDC was, finding the small stuff and the occasional deeper bit of junk (to just shy of 18" -large handmade nail, yes it could just as easily been a good nugget. The occasional piece may not have been within SDC range, the others I'm picking up perhaps (??) because the 6000 signal is marginally better on the ears.
Really, really curious about any 17" Mono users experience .... while I like finding gold each and every trip I'm willing to forego that pleasure while searching "off diggings" for that larger nugget that may be lurking there. Yes I realise you have to walk over one to ping it (and the 11" should pick it up) but thinking that's really only going to be successful if a decent 4500/5000 user hasn't been over the ground (rare in Vic. except for private property).
Look forward to hearing of your experience. May change my current thinking on waiting to see what other coils are in the pipeline.
Cheers T.
