My mate was working security at my favourite coin popping grounds so I went down and spent 5 hours poking around while he watched.
After watching me clean up he is now looking to buy his own detector. Its flaming contagious!!
$245.10 for this trip and some other stuff too.
Got my first carwash token!!

I bet your heart jumped with that carwash token, it would have looked a lot like a halfpenny at first glance.
Here are a couple of pics of my latest pre dec to help inspire your search.

My Mother and uncle came out for a look with me, and they got to be the ones to clean it up and tell me what it was(nice bit of involvement for them).

DOH im so a pre dec virgin. DOH. Dont care how much mnoney I fing I really want a pre dec!!

Don't cry mate just look in all the old spots.
Or better yet spend all that real money(jealous) on some proof pre dec silver, looks like you can afford it now!

hey shane i have a spare you can have when i get up there mate i know its not the same as finding your own but still its a pre dec :D

Yep same here(not coming up) send me an email with somewhere to post it to, and I will post you up that 1943d threepence gratis just for you. That way you can test on it with your machine.

Found a few more today on the beach, I think the park your detecting either isnt very old or there deep. Your park sounds like the one near the casino down there if there is security down there

lol bogan there are alot of security guards even at the coles shopping centre, darwin is rife with crime and the occasional
group of natives running riot, im not gonna try guess his cointopia, as there are to many parks with long grass
cheers HH drys :D

Good haul!
I don't expect you to give away your spot, but at least let on whether it's a park or beach or otherwise?

Sometimes you can be really lucky, Keep hitting it while it's there and while its hot Shane.
Like it was all put there just for you. I would do exactly the same(and do). Reap the rewards of your research and your luck.(top job)

The $$coins are starting to thin out but there are still heaps of 'coin' targets to dig. After 5 hours on the swing my arm was numb and my back was on fire but it is good fun. I will probably leave this place alone now for a while and try another spot I have been eying off. Again its patrolled by security but my mates friend patrols it and when he is on shift I can go for it.
Im up to $1500 with the 705 now (since end of Dec last year). Its paid for but I am saving for a new 3030. Just need about another grand.
Thanks for the offers of the pre dec coins but I actually have a collection here that I inherited form mum and my grandparents.
Its just a bucket list item that I really want to get. I thought it would come sooner.

You think thats impressive, check out my valuable peg collection, enough to pitch 100 tents! I must admit that grassed areas on foreshores are often a neglected area, with people shaking off clothing, pulling out their wallets and keys, drunk kids etc.

Maybe that's just Adelaide, But I'm pretty sure Queensland's got their fair share too( not my kids amongst em though).
