Thinking of doing a day trip during this coming week in the Bathurst area, just wondering
whether I should head North or South, have a look around behind Sunny Corner or more
toward Oberon.

Hoping to do about 5 or 6 hours, not looking for an X just a general direction for an area
with a chance of a detectable nug or 2. Would be great to head up to the Turondale region
but just won't have the time. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Heath

I'd take Lbg's advice Heath, he's a very experienced local that knows the area well. A lot of very good nuggets have come from there for those who persist. Cheers Wal.

Well done mate, great to see the rattlers are still finding their way into your jar. Hope everything is going great for you and look forward to a coffee next time I pass through. Take care mate....Cheers Wal. :)

Was just out havin a play with the gmt
For A few hrs and wasn't expecting near on 2 grams
But was a welcome reward ;)
Coffee sounds good

Lbg, thanks for the tip, much appreciated. That's a great reward for a few hours, if I even find 1
I'll be stoked. Very nice looking gold.

Thanks also Wal, I'm persistent and pretty patient, it will pay off eventually. I enjoy the hunt, love
getting out in the bush and the history associated with this great hobby.

Pm with a x sent
Hope this helps you guys
It took me six months to find my first wattle flat nugget !

What machines are you running
I may be able to help with settings
As some of the ground round there
Is nearly impossible to ground balance on
(nearly is the key there though )
:)

Thanks Ian
Havnt been getting out much
But nearly always come home with at least
A little one
Hope you and mark have been finding some too :)

Very nice of you Pete, see how I go, sounds like a good place to practice what I've
learned so far.

I have a GPX 5000, I was wondering about the high mineral content of the area.
I'm thinking, General or High mineral search mode with Fine Gold timing and 11"
mono coil. I'll bring the DD as well in case of intereference but it's probably the
ground mineralisation more than any EMI there.

Come for a wander over if you see me, will send you a PM when I'm heading
out there. Would be great to have a chat if you are up for it.

Great stuff LBG nice to see your still finding some nuggets
Also great to see others being helped to find something :)

So true, we all need to learn from someone, I'm all ears, though when I have
some solid experience I'll always be more than happy to help others too.

Great forum this one!

No worries I'll get out there if I'm able
Would be good to get out and give you's a hand
Health and the minister of fun and finances
Hold me up sometimes

Sure would be, but yeah see what the minister says and if your
feeling good. I'm sure I'll be out again sometime in the area after
this small trip, if we don't meet this time, hopefully another.

Be good to catch up with you guys , heatho , Lbg , definitely going that way Wednesday this week. Didnt realise couldn't get PM till ten posts . So if you have sent me one , maybe try send again , so I don't seem rude for not answering too! Thanks again...

PM sent.

Congratulations LBG.
A great find for a couple of hours. I have not long had my detector but might have to come down to Wattle Flats/Sofala for a bit of a try, I am still chasing my first nugget.
Keep in good health

Richard

Not looking good for Wednesday, could be some decent falls of rain
coming Wed, Thurs, Fri. Bathurst forecast for Wed is 10 deg and rain.
