Not much ringing under the coil today, half penny showed finally towards end of day - doeant help when you've dropped your finds bag, which you then realise had a hole in it anyway. Only lost a $2 coin....

Nice little crystals, and that tree, I see the detector there in front of it when I zoomed in on the trunk to look, it's a beaut hey !
What date on that 1/2 penny AR ? :D

Woot! Bout bloody time, I've finally dug my first cartwheel penny 1903. Dense bush detecting battling swordgrass and vines. A kung fu badge was outside the car door as soon as I hopped out. Super excited today as I was spotted by a local of a very fancy and old property, kindly he offered to show me the old tip for town, old cottage locations and then asked if id be interested digging whatever over the 40+ acre block full of history  ...mmmmmmmm

Leeches..bruises and scratches beat me up good today...love it :p ..much better than the 5c coin from yesterday

There's also a hapenny and old button of some sort too

Good onya mate , congrats
I love those Brittania's.
Their a great looking coin.
40 acres ?? Wow , i hope you do well out of that :D

Thanks silver for bringing up and old post that identified this item i detected as an old pocket watch for me. Its been sitting around in the bags for a while, thought it was a sink plug. Mo bro sais the makers mark should be on the big part ..which is the most rusted out piece of course.

Lits of rust was solidly stuck around it, bursting the copper cap off slightly over time.

A few soaks, scrubs and picks later.. may have snapped a small pin on hinge, but not definate if one was there or if its clamped on usually.

Came apart nice n gentle withought a cracking noise, more fell apart after a soak and brush. Wonder what it originally looked like and what sort of chain it may have been on. Deadly as silver ;)
