8" mono vs 11" dd in mono mode, sensitivity to small gold anyone?

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has tested out how sensitive a 11" commander dd is, when setup
As a mono wich would turn it into a 11x 5.5 mono ? Would this then make it super sensitive to
Smaller gold like an 8" mono commander or even like a Sadie?

Has anyone used it like this or done any test to see how it performs on small gold?

Yes I've done this. The 8" mono will hit harder and have slightly better depth on the smallest pieces. However the 11" DD in mono will run quieter, less affected by EMI and may get a touch more depth on bigger bits. If the ground has medium mineralisation, the 8" mono may still struggle to run in Normal or Sens Extra, whereas the 11" DD in mono may just run okay.

Thanks for the reply that's good to know from someone who has tried it, I would like to use this method also covering ground in a grid area with various other coils

Forgot to mention, the DD in mono will also be a lot less reactive to charcoal compared to the 8".
