Recently brought an old Gp Extreme and enjoy trying to get the best from it. Last two day trips found some little ones and plenty of the usual rubbish you find around old gold fields.

hey NG... by the looks of things, its probably not a bad idea to also wash ya hands in it :playful:

Must invest in one... used the folks US cleaner last year, I was also quite impressed.

(posting is hopefully a good omen for me, I'm on a dry run of late, nothing to show for the last 1/2 a dozen outings :/ )

Digging all them holes is dirty work mate :p
I havent tried it with the amonia yet just dishwashing liquid but will get some and go get some dirty gold to try it out :D

one I found not long back... actually found less than a month after getting back into the Hobie after a huge spell from it... a ~42 odd year spell. Same nugget as used in my signature. Was 57g after cleanup, almost a sun baker, less than an inch below surface. Found in GT

hey NG... I recon some dish washer machine detergent (powder type) with caustic would do the trick nicely... should be just tad more aggressive than liquid detergent or ammonia.

some more found since getting back into the swing of things.. from the GT

Some others found before I got back into the swing of things... prior to my ~42 year break from detecting. Again, all from GT

thats exactly it NG, its all about the Aussie bush.... it brings ya back down to earth, does me anyway. The buzz of finding gold is still the same for me today as it was the very first time I found gold, was using a detector with Dad back around 1975. We did alright back then using an ol' Garret 5000D. We use to do a lot of rabbiting, yabbying, ferreting & prospecting back then, I loved it... still do but these days the smelly ferrets have long gone :awful:

Finally bought one of the 30 dollar ultrasonic cleaners from aldi. My god how good do they work. Best 30 bucks you will ever spendhttps://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/img/member-images/13217/1552961688_2019-03-19_13.12.43.jpg
Yup, I grabbed one too. Was money WELL spent. Really shakes the Hell outta the nugs. I keep getting fine gold left behind.

I was running in General but it almost sounded like ground noise, just a very slight change in the threshold but once i changed it to hi yield it became a lot clearer
the depth was about 22-24 inches so a little surprised it became clearer in hi yield.

Just a 3 day soak in acid then a 6 hr soak in Bleach to whiten up the quartz.

After SG test it weighed 2.2 ounces.
