At Creswick i run on setting 4 and about 3 lights and at Amherst i run on 5 and 3 lights mate. Running at Creswick on number 5 is far too noisy and there's more hot rocks i reckon, but that's only my view, not saying others should do that. I went out to Creswick mid this week for the first time in about a month mate and got a couple of pieces, and today was my second trip in about a month. Bloody hard getting used to the noise again and i couldn't even do a full day i'm that out of detecting shape.

had a good day out today.. found 2 bits in packed in hard clay at good depths.. I gave them a tap with a hammer and revealed some nice gold.. 2.5g all up the 2 bigger bits are 1.2 and 1.1g

Just got home from Hill End, gave the back muscles a good workout on the Fuggets with the 4500 and SDC.

Failed to find a new patch, so set the vacuum cleaner to work and bagged a respectable number. 10 nugglets and 11 specimens. (photo to come)

... ......and I think they are getting even smaller. :D

Anybody can find big nuggets Wal if you swing over them. It's a lot harder and takes more skill to ping those tiny suckers   That should fire a few up  Anyway, well done mate :)

thanks guys, now that I have found gold at one end of the hill to the other and the sizes and shapes have shown a lot.. one end is small gold that's smooth, in the middle of the hillside had bit of mix smooth, rough small and not a bad size and ironstone started to come in the mixed with it, at the end the gold is rough, more ironstone mixed and bigger sized.. so i'll be working this hill for awhile by the looks and hope some deeper bigger gold comes out.. when I always find a bit of gold I check the gold out and see why and how the gold got there.. doing this will narrow it down to were it has come from.. once you located that area you can do very well out of it.. from this hill me and the wife have nelly hit half an ounce..
cheers
