Wow you guys have done Ok! Well apart from the socks and jocks , I did get to go camping for 5 days up in the maintain area in Tasmania's highland country , that was as good as any present , just piece and quite ,know one anywhere :cool:

Yeah slowflow, our RV5 has torn the front flap after about 1 years worth of camping , when there is two people in this size tent I don't think you have a lot of room left for your gear! But all in all the oz tent is good value and easy to set up :)

Welcome To the forum and prospecting Ed, there will be lots of different detectors you could look at :cool: I , a new person to detecting have purchase a GPX 5 k but you have to know how to use it before you can earn your keep :P Keep you ear to the forum and you will get all sorts of info...

Mbasko, thanks for that info :P , how do you charge up the little ripper , with a car battery or plug into 240 power? Or is there another way or charging when out detecting :8 . Can you charge from a 12 trickle charger? Thanks Googs

Hi Eric , happy to have you aboard hope you find some good information here :cool: Second hand detectors ,you can source them from forums such as this :cool: there is also ebay / gumtree :o but I do not recommend the later unless you you can see and operate the units before you buy also...

That looks a simple but great set up you have there mbasko :cool: Where did you buy the control box cover with the battery compartment on it from. Did notice your speaker has on/off switch and volume control , haven't seen them before :8

No - a short battery cable comes with it. I have a control box cover with a battery pouch built into it so the battery sits in that. Its very light & makes no difference to me with it on there. Thanks for the info mbasko, I think this system will work well for me in Tassie :cool: Look forward...

Can you tell me when using this type of battery system will a B&Z twin speaker set up work on it , or only headphones . Have you any pictures of how you set yours up on your SD ;) how (if you have twin speakers) is it set up on your harness or where ever :P Did you have to make up shorter...

Has anyone used a minelabmods little ripper wireless battery on their 5k , if so how good/ bad are these units? There seems to be an advantage in this battery system as there is no connecting wires to you, :8
