⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Last scraps for the year. It’s never been a competition until Mrs bjay picked up a half gram sunbaker this morning (her biggest piece so far).

We spent New Years Day relic hunting but I slipped out in the heat of the day while Mrs M took a well earned rest in the shade.



It was a good way to close out the year...

We spent another day out in the heat. We decided to peg this patch as it was on vacant crown land. Unfortunately there are some Native Title obstacles to deal with so I'll try to look into that tomorrow.



We stopped the quads as we were passing the same spot right on dark. I thought it was going to be a minute or two to grab a nugget for the first day of the year. This was my best effort and it took half an hour...

Nice way to finish of the year and begin 2024, Moneybox, Happy New Year

Spent a few days in Clermont the grass is long and it was bloody hot. Too hot for me after lunchtime. Ended up just under 5 grams biggest .94 of a gram.

Hi all I finally got around to sending update from last post a nice bush bar.

Still got more clean ups to do on some high grade and enough low grade to keep me busy for plenty of rainy days.

it’s nice when they get little bit bigger. As we are in 2nd month of 24 I hope you all have a great prospecting year and turn year 24 into 24k.

Spent a lot of time a hole the one that’s hard to leave at the end of day. you say to yourself I just get one more. A comparison dirty to clean gold ready to sell. for those who might not know that is Conglomerate gold A good indicator thats where the gold came from is the watermelon seed shape gold.some seeds are just bigger most.

Just spent 4 days in Vic around Maryborough area for some micro gold
Happy with the finds, 1816 sixpence was a nice surprise, was a screaming signal in the base of a digging under the loose leaf litter, the signals you always walk away from not even sure why i decided to dig it. In the back of my mind I though clean up Australia Day

Sounds like good motivation, not that I'm superstitious when it comes to luck finding gold

Took a Gold and Relics day tour at Creswick while I was in Vic for a holiday a few weeks ago now. Perfect weather for it, guide took us to a good location and I got to use a 6K for the first time. Working a surfaced area (away from the rest of the group) I managed these two tidbits after lunch. First detected gold for a total just over 0.1g. The sensitivity of the 6K was amazing. First piece was in a detector scrape so I felt like I was cheating a bit but the second larger one was all me and about 3-4in down in the lovely red clay with gravels through it.
