Where to stay and prospect in Margaret River

Hey guys
We moved to WA just over a year ago and planning on a little weekend away down Margaret River. Does anyone know where we can stay I.e log cabins etc and they allow you to metal detect around their rivers or bush land. I want to start teaching my son and have a little family time away ?
Being in Sydney for long time Ive never used my AT gold To actually find some Gold lol.

Only gold down there is the "Red"type, don't think you'll be wanting to get your youngster into that.?

Margs isnt much good for prospecting or detecting.
1. You cannot go prospecting/detecting in State Forest or National Parks ANYWHERE in WA.
2. The only gold ive ever seen from that area came out of granite rock when it was being ripped for the new water supply dam, & it was only gold leaf type flake in very tiny anounts
..Theres more gold south of Donnybrook than in Margaret River, & even that is scarce
