G'day all,

I've had some small stones in a vial that I found while panning about fifteen years ago, and was wondering if someone could tell me what they are.
I can't post pictures just yet, but I can give a description for the time being.
They're small (up to the size of a match-head) and translucent. They range from almost perfectly clear to ruby-red.
I've always assumed they were just bits of quartz that have become rounded by tumbling down a creek bed. Anyone else have any other ideas? They're from the Gippsland area.
I'll post a picture when I'm able.

Cheers

Thanks C&L. I checked out some images of those, and that's what they look like.
I'm not sure which they are. It looks like it'd be hard to distinguish between the two.
