what area to start at

my plans got cancelled on wednesday so im thinking of hiring a 2300 for the day..
can any members point me to a good spot to find so gold..
ill be hiring it from Ballarat so im thinking Creswick. but where???
any help would be great as i dont know the area at all.

Plenty of local ares to try Ben... grab a copy of Tully's maps of the area, or better yet, just ask the guys where your 'hiring' from as to ideas for prospecting...no-one can give you 'x' marks the spot, however, they can direct you to where the 'ol timers were most active (meaning, they had to do all that work for a 'reason', as they didn't have it as easy as we do today).
