Thinking about getting into the swing

Hi folks,
looking at starting to do a bit of coin / relic hunting and getting very encouraged from what I am reading on this site. Some nice parks around my area (SW Sydney) with ovals and netball courts that are bound to have plenty of rubbish and maybe even some good stuff. Need to work out what detector I want and kit myself up.
