Rock Identification please.

I found this rock not far from Blue Mount/Trentham last weekend.Its a volcanic area but its magnetic and my detector picked it up about a foot deep.
I know most volcanic rocks aren't magnetic so its got me stumped. If i had to take a punt i would say it might be a meteorite? Not sure.
Anyone have any idea what type of rock it is?

Photos a little bit blurry if you can get any more to upload, also with another object like a coin for scale would be useful.
Are there any soft pitted dimples in it at all? It may be an iron type rock like limonite

Yeah its small mate but i reckon your on the money AtomRat.

They do look similar mate, they even got that rusty iron look.

Like many others have mentioned recently, if it turns out to be nothing, it might be worth dissolving the iron in HCl acid in case a goody is hiding in there

I also found theses rocks today and i did get a good strong sound from them.
I might make a dolly pot and pan it.
