Hi Guys

Took the XTerra 705 Gold model out yesterday afternoon to the local church yard and grave yard.

Found the usual ring pulls, lead, brass pieces and other junk.

But did manage to locate the following Pennies

!x 1866, 1x 1873 and 1x 1875 !!! So pleased with this find :)

All coins were located about 100mm into the ground, with the soil quite well packed hard and some small pebbles occasionally.

The coins usually read as 32 on the screen whilst in the ground. I used a visual grid system (trees planted in rows) to cover the area in a methodical search pattern.

Hope the scanned images come out OK (first time I have done this).

Monty

PS I only covered about 10% of the land and I will be asking the local pastor for his permission to cover the rest of the area, so heres to hoping there is more 8) ;)

Nice finds Monty I would think there would be a few coppers in and around church yards with kids dropping their collection pennies and halfpennies even farthings over the years, when they used to go to Sunday school.

Good ages for your first coin finds! Well done. There will likely be more there and quite possibly a few silvers.

I've done alright out of churches and cemeterys

What do you do when you get a strong signal over an old grave? :)
