Hi guys my son's and I are going to look at doing a fossicking trip very soon. But I need to get a miners permit for each of us, could someone please let me know where to purchase these from.

Or please put up a link that I can follow.

Thanks Rob

NSW only requires State Forest permit. The whole family can be on one:

Queensland:

Victoria:

South Australia:
Not required - some public sites have an access fee

Tasmania:
Only required outside of designated fossicking areas:

You'll need a NSW State Forest permit then for Barrington Tops State Forest. The family can go on one permit. Be aware it adjoins the Barrington Tops National Park - no fossicking allowed.
Pretty sure it's mainly gemstones there, not much gold but there is a guided tour of the Mountain Maid gold mine in Copeland Tops State Conservation Area (SCA). NSW SCA' s are off limits to fossicking also being under NPWS banner.

There's also another place there which is a B&B called Goldies Place, you can I think pan for gold there also. Mbasko is right though, mainly gemstones. It will be very cold there this time of year too.
