I think any form of testing needs to be done with
identical Coils. 1 is 7" in width while the other is
Not even the standard 9" coil but 11".

This goes for any detecting company when
Performing comparison testing.

Glad we got you thinking about the Deus :D

I am wondering though when will xp metal
detectors will Get thier own forum on this website
Under the company name XP metal detectors.

In the mean time i will wait for keith to do his
Own tests shortly if he does which will be
Interesting.

Still an interesting test whatever the coil, he was using the Dues in 18khz, which is its best freq for unmasking.

With the reactivity set to 3 yes i agree.

No little about the Dues, is the reactivity of 3 an FP setting or modified.? And what is it in relation to... something like the V3Is recovery speed setting or something different.?

The way i understand it, its related to the processing of targets.

Its like a target splitter. The more used and the more the
targets Get split. Its a neat feature especially around a
ghost town.

With the reactivity the higher you dial it the more it splits
the targets Between nail and coin if they are near each
other. However the Higher the reactivity and you end up
loosing some depth. So having It set at 3 due to some
depth loss its why i think it excels at 18khz.

At one point i owned both and opted for the deus due
To its weight and fast processing. The xp has a screen
Similiar to the v3i as well.

Had a read and from what i gather a reaction of 5 would have been the better setting. However in the vid there were two nails, not one....and at such close proximity, the reaction of 5 may not have given the process long enough to lock onto the coin. So 3 may have been the better choice.?
Not knowing the Dues, i cant say if 3 was a FP setting or not.? If not i guess he may have tried a few different settings before recording the footage.? and as you can see from the vid, the Dues does hit the coin on some passes.
Whatever the case...he forgot to GB the Dues...not that it would matter much i guess, the readings on the RACER when he GBed it were almost benign.

With vids like these turning up on the RACER, its gunna be hard not to get on board for such little money. For a turn on and go its simply proving awesome. If they were to add all the things we want from other makes and models, than it loses that turn on and go functionality.

Id like a fully tweak-able version no argument there.

just remember the deus is always in development
Software wise and the platform has been around
A long time. The other advantages you have is the
Deus has a choice of 4 frequencies to choose
From and has the target screen which shows
Iron and good targets. I think it also has a
Notch feature for gold prospecting.

So if a machine can compete with it today
The same machine may not in the future
Due to software changes.

The other thing with xp just about everything
Needed to make the detector is made in
House.

The reactivity for me and the iron volume
Are 2 features i really love then you have
The weight factor.

I think another coil is being made for the
Deus.

You may have updates to your Dues and other make/models sooner rather then latter as Nokta/Makro start taking the bull by the horns.
Thats a good thing all round in my opinion, other Manufacturers will have to move with the times to keep up. Maybe Whites will bring out that much needed V3i update.?

Don't get me wrong, but if I had the money I would have about 20 detectors in my inventory, including the Deus and Racer and CTX, and so on.

For the price, the Racer ticks a lot of boxes for me as a coin/relic detector in the dry, though the flexibility of the Deus has its distinct advantages, and the price reflects that. :)

Not much difference in price between both if
You know where to look.

What will be interesting though is to see how
other Flagship detectors perform against the
Racer. I am looking forward to keith testing
And comparing.

Nokta is going to suprise a few i think with
the New products they may be introducing
in the Next 2 years including a gold pi detector
and A vlf/pulse hybrid.

Healthy competition means competitive prices.

I just had a look at the price of the Dues, and the coil prices because i was starting to get interested. Yet that interest only lasted for a brief moment in time.

Mine cost $1500 aus delivered from another place.

These come on special here in Aus from time to time.

Just sold the gp now need to decide which gpx to buy.

You think these coils are expensive ;)

Yep!!. i think there a little on the high side of things...probably to do with the wireless thingy and battery. Yet the concept is not bad and i can understand the interest people have in the machine. Im just glad i got my v3i when i did.
