I had a bit of luck today working on the upstream side of a logjam which incidentally was also the side of exposed bedrock with deep crevices that delivered my biggest picker to date - laughably small in comparison to those of you who've been at this game for many years, but to me, it was a winner 
My question is, what is the usual side to work on a logjam, upstream or downstream?? Trying to think in terms of waterflow in flood conditions/pressure changes and I'm thinking upstream for some reason, but maybe it's downstream....or both?
