Leaseholders near Mareeba

Hi everyone, I'm looking to take my son out to do our first gold detecting near Cairns and Mareeba looks like a good spot with gold history.

Obviously not a lot of areas here that allow prospecting or detecting within the confines of QLDs fossicking permits.

Anyone know of any land holders or leaseholders that allow detecting on their land?

Happy to pay a reasonable fee or carton !

Hi skinface not to sure about around Mareeba but they say Georgetown area flat creek and western creek, abit of a drive think of going out there myself around Xmas
