decided today to go for a drive out to a old gold mine area looking for old camp areas. the place is pretty populated with 4wders and dirtbikes hammering around the place every weekend.
We drove in and found a nice little clearing next to the river that gently flowed down stream and got to work with detectors. within minutes the detectors were finding a tuna can and bits of wire giving us the idea it used to be a campsite. but our false assumptions became clear when we had detected the area for 3 hours with a total net haul of one tuna can, 3 pieces of rusty wire, 1 piece of foil and one 5 cent coin. did come across 2 red belly black snakes and a goanna.
oh well ill research some more and try to find a different site next time. hopefully we get more next time to justify the $60 fuel bill
