AT Gold in Tasmania?

Hi all. I am thinking about an AT Gold for general rummaging about in Tasmania, relic and coin, maybe some dry beach sand, hopefully some gold stuff too... How do these handle Tassy conditions? I have read all the info re PI machines and the SDC 2300 in particular. Hopefully i will add one of these at a later date but not in a position to afford one yet. Would the two make an adequate arsenal together? Or would a minelab xterra 705 or similar be better suited than the Garrett? Thanks in advance.

Hey Wolfy, found this thread on here and thought it may show some insights.
I like the bit about it being nearly as good as an AT Gold on gold, but great in salty conditions as well.

Thanks Silver, appreciate that. I had read that as part of my research and resultant confusion. I the end i got a great deal on a lightly used Minelab Xterra 705 package, so happy with that. Currently getting to know it in my back yard. Maybe one day i will add something like the SDC2300 but for now i am confused enough!
