That sucks!! Had a few prangs myself and they all sucked lol.
From a few Prangs I have have had I'd guess the bill to be around 3k depending on the repairer and what is hidden behind the bumper that may be damaged but usually everything gets replaced when insurance company's repair it. Down to the licence plate holder and screws and it all ads to the bill which is fine really if your not footing the bill lol
On a positive note at least you got a new detector

Car prangs really suck, I too bought a near new SUV recently, it lasted about 5 weeks before being written off on the way to pick up a pizza. 8.( At least no one was hurt, that's the main thing - hope you enjoy your new toy.
