Thank you for the information :D , I'm still wondering how people know if they have a proof penny or not, I've been searching and searching, and cant find the info

Shoompy, for certain the pictures you've included are not PROOF pennies. They are probably GOOD to VERY GOOD, although it is a little hard to be exact from your pics.

As Savage says, Google 1957 penny and have a look through some of the results. You'll find a pic of any proofs that were minted.

In fact, have a look at this site https://www.wynyardcoins.com.au/sho...l-coins/pennies/australia-1957-y-proof-penny/

Shows exactly what it looks like. These are not coins that you "find". They are rare and in collectors hands.

Its Fairly unlikely you have a Proof Penny, they are extremely rare.
Proofs were produced by polished Dies in the Press.

To see an example of a Proof Penny look at the, "Coinworks", site that specialises in selling high end investment grade Coins to very wealthy collectors, look in browse and buy section, latest catalogue. Above pic is a 1947 Proof, selling for $40,000 AUD, you won't find copper coins in this condition, ( in the ground ) with a detector.
