    Minelab Gold Monster 1000

Haha, I'm a bit concerned about her reaction to tell you the truth, she has a master's degree in psychology and I've always had the sneaky suspicion that she only married me so that she could have her own personal 'lab-rat' to experiment on. This may come back to bite me later down the track...

    Minelab Gold Monster 1000

I walked into my local BCF yesterday just to fill in some time whilst the bride was doing her 'girly' shopping and I spotted a bloke leaving with a box bearing the Minelab logo. "Aha," says me "this I must investigate." I didn't know that BCF sold such goodies as I always went straight to the...

Rules/regs regarding GPA in Sapphire area.

The 'rule of thumb' here on the gemfields is quite simple - keep off someone else's patch and that applies to machinery leases, mining claims and fossicking diggings. Just because you don't see somebody working the dirt doesn't mean it's not being worked. If you know that you have entered a...

    The Gemfields rubyvale

If you are looking to buy a claim, just be aware that on top of the purchase price you could very well be hit up for an increase in bond payment depending on when the most recent assessment was conducted. A new scale of applicable bonds came into effect in recent years and we now have to provide...

    The Gemfields rubyvale

Claims are selling quite well at the moment Silver and I think it has a lot to do with people seeking a "base" away from the disease ridden areas down south. As for the cost, it all comes down to not just what may be below ground, but also what is on offer above ground. A claim not far from me...

    Forum Rules and Common Decency

Forum - noun - 'a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged' My view of a forum is exactly that, somewhere to express views, not somewhere to supress views if you do not agree with the views of others. To say that if you don't agree with a post/member scroll...

    Fossicking Emmaville/Torrington

LW, I think you might have to check your map again in relation to Goondiwindi. The state border is the Macintyre River which flows south of town, not down the main street. Apparently we are not on the same page here. My first post, #9, referred to the situation here on the Central Qld Gemfields...

    Fossicking Emmaville/Torrington

Yes, all Qld fossicking areas are closed, but that doesn't seem to deter some from doing the wrong thing. Two interstate caravans were seen entering the Graves Hill fossicking area here on the Central Qld Gemfields yesterday and even though they were advised by a local not to enter due to the...

    Fossicking tours around Rubyvale?

I've held the Tiger also, many years ago. Back in 1990, I helped with the security in the hall at Gemfest and actually held the Centenary Stone when the display cabinet caught fire. That experience motivated me to dig like a man possessed for a week or two - there has to be a bigger one out...

    Mitsubishi Air Bags.

Close, but not entirely correct. They do have a lawful right to hold your vehicle in the event of outstanding monies owed for repairs - this is called a 'repairers lien'. In the event of a vehicle being deemed unsafe, they have no legal right to hold it, seize it, crush it or do anything else...

    School Me on Smart Tv's

I had a smart tv about 20 years ago, every time I adjusted the vertical hold it got 'smart' and started rolling again. I outsmarted the mongrel thing and fixed the problem with my axe - no more rolling.

How to remove old oil stains on concrete.

I guess you could always paint it with a masonry paint to hide the stains.

How to remove old oil stains on concrete.

If they are deeply ingrained dirty oil stains then the only way I know is a jackhammer. Having worked as a diesel mechanic all my life and making a mess in every garage I've ever worked in, the floors that didn't retain oil stains were those that had been treated and painted before use.

It is the site of a connection portal to an alternative universe.....I know this because I left a similar ground disturbance when I arrived.

    Current fuel prices.

Compared to most other countries, our fuel prices here aren't too bad. England and Germany are both up over $2.40 per litre for petrol and diesel. I can remember when living in Darwin and the price of diesel jumped over $1.00 a litre - there was public outcry. That was 17 years ago and during...

    4WD Action Magazine Ends

It was a financial decision made by the parent company, Express Media Group (EMG), to not only cease the publication of Australian 4WD Action, but also the Caravan & Motorhome On Tour magazine. The thing that upset a lot of subscribers more than the demise of both these magazines was that EMG...

    Things that annoy you irrationally.

I'm annoyed that someone hasn't invented a phone with a button that when pressed delivers 200,000 volts to the dimwit on the other end - I don't want to actually hurt them, just try and jump start whatever they might have between their ears.
