Goldpick
Chris Johnson
I bought one of these backpacks a few days ago to fit all my detecting gear in for the field. They are usually $85ea, got this one from The Gold Mining centre for $50 pickup, postage usually $12. Like I mentioned previously, this thing can hold a lot of gear, and is comfortable to wear with hip and chest belts to keep it in place securely.
In the front section, I have the GM3 control box, 3 piece shaft, two coils and a gold scoop. The middle section has the large Infinium DD and Mono coil, plus the 10x5 Infinium elliptical coil. The rear holds two pinpointers, mozzie spray, torch, UHF radio, batteries, gloves, spare coil bolts and spare velcro strap.
There are mounts on the rear to carry a fully assembled VLF detector, side pocket for a water bottle, and straps on the opposite side for a small shovel or pick.
The front strap has a zipper pocket for a mobile phone/gps/snake bite kit, and the belt has ring straps for holding a pick or pinpointer. There is also a key ring holder for keys or as I have shown, for securing my pinpointer curly cable.
I have an external speaker for the infinium, so I might look at securing that to the right-hand strap vs wearing headphones.
All up, not a bad setup for the budding detectorist!
