Many videos I see which have a titles that seem so be educational turn out to be people just digging up nuggets. Not thats a bad thing but I want to find a YouTube channel thats educational on gold detecting preferably in Victoria showing the fields here.
Where to look for it
How to operate machines etc

Thanks

I don't know of any Yootoob ones specifically dedicated for your purpose, but Jonathan Porter does a good instructional DVD on the GPX5000 which would also apply to your GPX4500 with a couple of timings being different.

GPX4500 video: https://outbackprospector.com.au/jo...-prospector-gold-metal-detecting-gpx4500-dvd/
JP has a couple of vids on YouTube:

Haven't watched this right thru but it's about settings for the GPX4500:

As far as where to look? Maybe look at some training days that have specific portions of that training dedicated to the topics of how, where, why etc.? There was a Geologist in Victoria doing short courses on it - Andrew Bales https://www.rawgold.com.au/about-rawgold#
Clubs &/or forum meet ups can be a cheap way of gaining knowledge too.

The best way would be joining a club.
Bendigo Prospectors Club have group meetings and have day and weekend trips to do exactly what you wish.
You will no learn all you need to know watching youtube.
Get out and meet some of the guys who have uncovered loads of gold. Have that conversation and learn from the people who have been detecting for years.
They will take you out to some of the more interesting areas. Show you how to use the detector, check your settings and help.
They will not tell you about some of their lets say more choice areas.
But it will be better than watching youtube and not finding what yo are after.

Cheers

Good advice Harry :Y: you certainly won't find it jumping out of a screen. Get yourself involved with like minded people on a face to face basis. You'll be surprised how quick you will learn from experience (people who have been successful) that don't make or post videos.

the other issue is settings are very specific to an area. what works at maryborough does not always work in the whipstick one setting does not suit all
that is when local knowledge and boots on the ground is the way to go

cheers
