If the SGT is designed for gold area, in theory the auto track ground balance must be good.. on that basis, how would it run in wet sand and mbe shallow water ?

I don't think it would run well. Have heard of people using the GMT on the beach with a lot of fine tuning of gain & VSAT. Seeing as though the SGT is the simplified version you may not have enough adjustment to allow use on the beach like the GMT?
The SST has the same tracking & also has a salt mode. Might be a better option?

Thanx M. best to go for the sand shark, for the money/budget I think. cheers.

Zuke, I wonder how fast they have set the SAT speed on the SGT? The VSAT control is what i believe made the GMT a good VLF detector in our soils. Maybe they set the Selfadjusting auto tune fast on the SGT? :)

Yeah dunno I did have A SGT for a short time but never really used it I just wondered if there was any about and people had been using them seem like a budget GMT but only with the main controls

Maybe I should have held onto it a little longer?

Now yes it will auto tune out small gold but you can keep GBing away from the target and keep coming back onto it, we do this with the GMZ and it works well.
