I am off to the UK/Europe for the Xmas holidays, seeing that my wife is a school teacher, this is the only time of the year to have a extended holiday ,due to her long break at Chrissy,
We fly out on Sunday, with our 2 boys in tow, should be an interesting and eye opening trip  ,seeing none of us has been overseas,or seen snow .

7 days in London(argue with thousands of poms)
3- Scotland(making the most of The Glenlivet)
8- Ireland(mostly drunk on that black thick stuff)
5- France(red wine and a beret full of snails)
11- Germany(based in Berlin over the Xmas-New Years, mmmmm, cheap German beer and sausage)
6- Austria(Sazburg-Villach,sleep recover)
3- Venice(cold gondolier rides)
6- Rome(check out his holiness,and the gladiators)

Then back to the land Downunder(2 stone heavier  )

So an early Merry Christmas to all and stay safe

Don' t forget to have some frogs legs and Escargot in France. Its not as bad as you think.
Have a great trip- all of you.
Cheers and Merry Xmas for then...
Jaros :p :p

Thanks,We are doing a lot of the hop on,hop off,bus rides, in all the major cities, seems to be fairly cheap and convenient,Berlin for Christmas should rock

Be sneaky Nortoz and make sure you Google where to hire metal detectors(for the family) wherever you go. Make sure you have the appropriate Nav man technology as well so that you can find the place at the drop of a hat, and don't forget that many thousands of years of history/ detecting finds would also help make for that unforgettable journey/trip of a lifetime,... also , don't forget to take a good torch and spare batteries as there are dungeons etc that beg looking into that are a no go without a torch(tried matches as a kid and it's just too eerie).

Wish I could take the CTX, 8.((then again it would be cheaper to by a Deus over there, and they are pretty compact),also looking into hooking up with some German connections I have,
Only problem is the snow etc,at this time of year.

Definitely be easier to buy or rent or "borrow" over there,..sure enough there has got to be someone keen enough to break the snow and ice with a pick who will go out with you all. And sometimes it's only snowy in the highlands", America is copping it weather wise now so that may mean a bit of a reprieve else where(here's hoping).

I want to read somewhere how an un named Aussie on holidays with his family in Northern Island(or Germany) found a huge buried hoard of roman gold coins(some of them buried brand new) never suspected of being in that area, and is in negotiations with the relevant Authorities and the Land Owner to divvy up the multi millions of dollars on offer from various museums for a chunk of the treasure,.....with the expected outcomes for each of the parties to be in the tens of millions of pound(sterling),....each.

Just roll with the flow if it happens for ya, that's all you could do.
