As a kid christmas Beatles were everywhere.
First came the brown ones ,then about 2 weeks before Christmas day came the gold ones.
Last year we seen 1 brown one and this year we haven't seen a single Beatle, let alone a gold one .
Does anyone know what's happening with the good old golden Christmas Beatle. :(

Ive read that they need eucalyptus leaves to lay their spawn in.
If the good ol Christmas Beatle is declining because of the decline in eucalyptus trees, What hope have the koalas got :N:

Last year we had squadrons of Orb and Christmas (also known as Jewel) spiders throughout the GT.
This year, almost none.
The mozzies were also down, so that's maybe why.

Have not seen Orbs in about 5 years, used to have them hanging out everywhere, love them.

Christmas beetles, digging them up on the weekend, alive but half formed, but they also have been in decline around here too.

:/

Christmas beetles are the big white grubs in your garden , have a close look at the head, with less people gardening and no moisture they are still in the ground, and as far as i am concerned the tree sickening buggers can stay in the ground.
