Tarnagulla camping ground caretaker Kerry Weedon died last week after a long battle with cancer. He was a top bloke and very helpful as anyone who has camped there can attest. Sadly missed.

Very sad to hear this , some of his old sayings were , flash as a rat with a gold tooth, and got to keep going and do the 5 dollar handshank. re collecting the show ground fees.

The reserve's improvements and restorations were his passion. He did well.

Not just the campers Jaros. At least half of those who stay there are prospectors, and many are from our forum

I saw him about a month ago, just before his last trip to hospital. He didn't look well, but was as cheerful as always.

Kerry was originally from Adelaide, if memory serves Alberton, but spent his last years at Tarnagulla.

He was a softly spoken Gentleman. RIP

Hi condor 22 he was actually from tasmania ,also worked for foreign affairs in Canberra amongst other things also was in SA where his son still lives

Thanks, he never told me that, as I'm from S.A. all he mentioned was the many years here

He was a fairly private man, i only found out from his son at the funeral
