Looks fantastic :perfect:  what a great idea to use a few tiny pieces :Y: and sentimental heirloom :goldnugget:

You could look at the ring and think to your self that I found that peace with Jo blow and that bit when
I was taking a dump ..

Would have a lot of great memories in it and a lot of meaning to it.

I am even thinking of doing the same when I find a few more bits.....

First time for everything

I have read many things on finding gold..

Some people have said that they was sitting at camp and spotted a nice peace of gold..

Others said only just got 2 foot from the car...

So anything is posable...

Goody :)

Very nice  :perfect: can you tell us a bit about the process.

Can I suggest you ask the mods to edit the thread title to give everyone a place to showcase their creations, don't recall any previous threads related to finds jewellery/art. I like it

Thanks guys the surrounding metal is silver, the first step was to cut out the round backing plate, then I maked out where I needed to put the support pins ,drilled their positions, soldered them in with hard silver solder, made the round mount, soldered it, polished the mount then cut and bent the pins over the nugget and finished with a final polished hope this helps you understand the process Cheers Goinbush

Very nice Goinbush :perfect:
I was planning to have some jewelry made in the Philippines with gems we found in Rubyvale and gold we have collected over the past few years..
Pandemic has stuffed that idea

Looking for some inspiration ..... have 1oz - 1.5oz (or more if necessary) of SDC sized gold I want to give to a jeweller to turn into something for my better half. Also a nugget just under 4gms I might get a link attached to hang as a pendant.
(Should give me a few brownie points) .....

If anyone has done anything like this what did you have made into, thinking bracelet, pendant, earrings or whatever.
Love to see some pics or recommendations to see what can be done and how much gold it took, have a Ballarat jeweller (NDV) who does some great work.

Oh I like this thread, this will be interesting to read.... 👍
I'm thinking a matching set, earrings, necklace and ring with stones.
Keeping the nuggets whole.
I cant describe what I am thinking, but verbally I may be able to get the concept across.

To be honest gold is pretty boring by itself, I'd try and find a nice 2ct at least cushion cut or princess cut Aussie sapphire or a larger nice Rhodolite garnet to get something done with it and your gold. Could set you back 5 or 600 hundred bucks for a decent quality stone but it would be worth it to get something like that done. Or a ruby or emerald but quality ruby and emerald are bloody expensive.

Great idea Heatho and reckon that there would be a few on here that would be happy to supply a 2ct Sapphire at a reasonable rate for a fellow member. Mackka

I made up a nice pendant from a nice nugget I found in WA, I did the gold soldering ect to put the bail/loop on and it came up quite nice.

from this to this

Teemore.... you just need around 10 grams to make a nice ring like this one I had made for the missus.
A lovely piece of opal as the centrepiece.
Brownie points to burn. 🥰
