Hi, does anyone know if its possible to transfer tenements ive put onto google earth pro to my Garmin Oregon 450t GPS. Any really simple info ( cos i'm pretty simple) would be greatly appreciated. Cheers peterau

Yeah I'm pretty simple too. I just took the coordinates of each corner and put them in as waypoints. At least they show up on the map.

It is all to do with the format you are using. Google Earth uses a .kml and .kmz file. Your GPS will use other points such as PDF, BMP, PNG or GIF etc... so you need to convert one to the other. Or look at what the original file is.

The simple way is to put coordinates in as Moneybox suggested but this is tedious.

If you rick click on the file (on your computer) you want to convert and click properties it will tell you what file format it is. Start there and then we can look at ways to convert and import.

Edit - Just to add you will also need to use the Garmin Base camp software as well, I believe that will help with the import process as well.

Thanks for replys, too hard basket, will just put in co ords on my gps. Another question, when I put co ords from google earth pointer into my gps, the result is always about 300 metres out. My gps is set at hddd mm. mmm Is this the correct position format. I have wgs 84 datum or wgs 84 spheroid choices which one should I be using. Thanks again guys. peterau
