Hole dug, couple of feet, Nada but dirt. When the gale stops I will dig right up against the slab, but 99% sure I'll find virgin dirt under the construction stuff.

Looks like this mystery will remain so.

Only lead left is an excercise book I found in the workshop under the vertical mill (I had the vendor leave the workshop as is, couple months cleanup, but some damn nice tools) listing quotes for various bits and pieces related to the build, has a few numbers/names.

Dunno how to investigate without letting the cat out of the bag though.

More to ponder.

I have been told that Boral ran a gravel pit near Ballarat since they where not in the gold the just sold it as road base thus paving the roads with gold. They felt it was more effort that it was worth. The bluider of the must have found a similar type gravel pit operator.
