well spotted although the arachnusmadtuniatis looks different to the Google images. Could be a new sub species?

Hey Steve, Never seen one of these in all the miles tramping around WA. You could try sending a photo off to this department for identification?

Do think Annie is on the money, there are a number of spotted ground spiders and some are in your region.
The Spotted ground spiders Habronestes and Storena are two genera of spiders in the family Zodariidae.

Identification
Spotted ground spiders are from 6 mm to 20 mm long. They are usually dark-coloured (reddish to black), and sparsely haired. Legs are orange to red or black and white. They have two to five pairs of white or coloured spots on the dorsal surface of the abdomen that can range from pale yellow to bright orange.

Latrodectus tredecimguttatus, also known as the Mediterranean black widow, or the European black widow, is a species in the genus Latrodectus of the widow spiders.
Higher classification: Widow spiders
Scientific name: Latrodectus tredecimguttatus
Order: Spider
Class: Arachnida
Phylum: Arthropoda
Rank: Species

After comparing the two photos the one
I found looks a bit different but very similar

The front end of yours looks very much like a funnel web , the fangs are thick and look like they have punching power , note the ground based web like funnel webs often do , however i have seen tree dwelling funnel webs that spin a web around a leaf to roll it into a tube and make their web inside it , the one i saw had glossy black fangs and legs and was about 25 mm long

Thanks fellas.
Some close but no cigar yet. Most likely one of the spotted ground spiders, the closest so far is the ant hunter but different shaped bum..... maybe hes just a munted version.
