You been on holidays wolfau? Haven't seen you on the forum for a while.

No just keeping a low profile. Will reply to posts though
If people need a hand with something.

Been out on a few day trips with the 5000. It can get
Frustrating though trying to find the right detecting
Ground.

How are you going? Have you found more?

Don't forget to visit your local library which should
Have a ton of info..

Been to the local library and slim pickings from there so far. Couple of books but not flash. Been out and getting three or four specs each outing. Best day was eight, last couple of days out have got a few slightly bigger specs. Still trying to get my head around finding new areas and staying confident. I'm looking to buy an external speaker for the 2300, any suggestions? Is the 5000 more suited to searching deeper, new ground rather than shallow areas?

All you need is an internet connection and the ability to read the ground/vegetation when you land mate!

What area dude?

Have ya got a tape measure around with a decent clip on it that you don't use (the clip part anyway)?
Also have heard of people using old mobile phone cover clips for things like tape measures & they are supposed to be more secure than the metal clips?
I'm sure I've seen them in the radio section at Jaycar or somewhere similar but can't find them online?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Im from inner west of Melbourne. Not sure if the question
MF asked was for me.

Scrounger I am yet to find my first piece.

The 5000 is a different machine with different options.

My suggestion is to get a booster and speaker which will
come In handy. I have a wireless system that has a built in
Amp so looking at getting some external speakers for
It.

You can buy a cheap guitar amp and connect a speaker
To it though.

There is a booster thread on this forum with more info.

Edit: the link is below.

Thanks Wolfau, just noticed that other thread, cheers.

Your welcome.

Just stick with your winning formula thats
Helping you find gold and don't lose that
Focus because its easy to forget, then get
Confused and frustrated.

Cheers mate, from my limited experience, finding the first piece for the day is usually all i need to remain positive for a few hours at least. The Sam Cash quote at the bottom of Metas posts is pretty relevant i reckon.
