Sluices illegal in Western Australia?

I did a search on the forum, but can't find a definite yes or no to my query.

Just wondering if sluicing for gold is legal in W.A (highbankers etc)?

From reading the regulations I am guessing no because its mechanical. Would that be correct?

Fair bit of rain around lately. Thats what got me thinking of a sluice.

When and if the creeks do run you're bogged before you can get near them.

Some where on here is a method you set up in the gullys and wait for the rain to do the work for you.

Was thinking of a recirculating system as well. On a small scale.

Forget the water Wookie,water is a pain,even in the dry areas of Vic,the blowers are the go.
Only in the streams with a water flow,are the sluices the go.
Nightjar has given you the right imfo.

Thanks thedigger and nightjar. Was just curious if it was used here or even feasible.

I will stick to the metal detector for now
