Here they are after a better clean, good enough for now

Unfortunately the 705 was purchased second hand so no warranty. Ended up costing me $160 but still better than buying a new one Goldpick
I was just thinking today that some sort of whipper snipper attachment would have come in handy B5

Fews hours at the old station produced a few more coppers,think I must have hit my silver limit for the week-end after yesterdays hunt

Been a while between hunts,my 705 started playing up so had to send it away for a new keyboard.
All fixed now and this is the result of yesterday and today's hunts.

I think the square thing is a buckle,feels heavy like lead and has no makers mark on it.
Pennies are 1891,1912 1943,1952 and 1943 half.

After a slow start with the 3p and moving to the old sports ground I found 3 6d in a 2 meter area. Just shows you never find them all,I wish they would mow the grass though as it is getting pretty high after all the rain.
Will post a pic of the silvers after they are cleaned.

I have the exact same square thing but it has a few bits missing (hit with mower I think). It is very heavy and I thought it may be a lid off something, can you post a pic of the back.

The steel part is missing from mine and I thought it might be a lid of some sort of box. Now I think it is a part of some harness gear maybe off a breast plate, I found mine under an old horse rail near the local hall.

Almost did not make it out today because of prior commitments,but snuck out this afternoon for a quick swing.
Got out to the field and the first storms in months rolled in,lightning,thunder and rain stopped me for around half an hour.
But once it cleared, a few coins presented themselves for inspection.
Also found a 3 x 2c coins spill,not shown.

Quick one hour swing this arvo at the local,spent 55 minutes finding the 5 cents, '24 Penny and the junker "H"
Then the last 5 finding the '42 Thrippy, '51 Florry and my first cricket pin.
Then the car alarm went off because my son was playing with the car keys so that was the end of the hunt for the day.
