A mate took this short timelapse video last year from our trip to NZ. Spent an afternoon panning and sluicing along the Arrow River at Arrowtown on the South Island of New Zealand.
Didn't do any good, just a dozen small colors or so but the location more than made up for it. Absolutely amazing part of the world.
Also worth a mention, the Arrow River is what black sand nightmares are made of. For any of you that have prospected somewhere like Eldorado \ Beechworth in North East Victoria which is know for its abundance of black sands, you get as much black sand in 1 or 2 shovels from the Arrow River as you do in a whole day digging Eldorado \ Beechworth.
Regardless I hope to be back there again this year and maybe get another chance to try my hand at finding some NZ gold!
