Did a quick school run today while the kids had a play at the park. Was only there for about an hour. The school is well over 150 years old and never fails me, although the pre-decies are becoming more scarce these days. In the past I've found half pennies, pennies and florins, generally a lot of 20's, 10's and the occasional 50c and $2.

This is an old roo badge, clocked at 32. Thought it was $2. Says - YAL.

Another badge, doesn't look as old as the roo badge, but still a neat find.

This, I am unsure about. It says - Mallet Band. I didn't realise how fragile it was and accidentally ripped it while attempting to straighten it out.

Beautiful roo penny.

All in all, can't complain. Gets me out and about, some fresh air and all the rest. No expectations, no dissapointments. ;)

Nice photography there Frogger, clear as mate well done, good finds for an hour, nice things like the roo and the enamel badge make for a welcome surprise from the normal moolah when on the hunt,... my kids have had plenty of Pub Park crawls in their time out detecting with me too,..soon as they,ve had enough of one it's on to the next(ha).

Mate, that roo badge is a ripper!
Let us know if you find out more about it... Very interesting

Thanks mate, I did a bit of research last night on the roo badge. YAP stands for "Young Australia League". That's about all it says unfortunately -http://wanumismatica.org.au/category/yal-and-youth-brigade/

Thanks silver, can't complain that's for sure. After a bit of tucker I'm heading down to the old pub thisarvo. Should be some interesting bits and pieces among the caps, pulltabs etc. Will see how things turn out :)
