Old Chinese coin found detecting old goldfields

So I had a bit more time with the 705 in the golden triangle the other week, didn't dig up any gold sadly, mostly junk, but I did find this little guy while swinging near slatey creek.

I'm hoping it's a coin an old timer might have dropped. Any way to tell how old it might be?

Also, is it worth attempting to clean up or should I leave it in its current condition?

Hi mate - very nice. (I panned my first ever gold at Slatey Creek - about 1971). Anyway - some-time ago I posted a picture of all Chinese coins. Its on the forum some-where, maybe under coin shooting?

Closest match I can see off Loamer's list is 1820-1850, sounds about right to me
