Newbie in New England

Hi All, I'm Pete living in Armidale NSW. 44yrs old married and one little boy just under 2. Have always had an interest in prospecting due to my father who did alot of alluvial work throughout NE NSW as I was growing up. JUst getting back into it and have been hitting the Gwydir river below Uralla. Great to get out on the river even if its only 5 degrees !

Welcome Pete, I am an external student at the Armidale Uni, and always do a bit of prospecting when I head up there. Great spot for prospecting as you can get sapphires with your gold. I will be back for a week at the end of August , hopefully it has warmed up a bit by then.

It does get mighty chilly at Armidale. I spent a week there a few years back doing some IT work for bank and remember the coldness quite well.
