My partner and I went out on our first outing yesterday with our children. 600 km in 1 day round trip. We found a few places of interest, tried to swing a few times, but the mosquitoes were terrible and the size of dragonflies.

We found a few quartz sites but no gold, have 5 or 6 places to try, but would love to have more. Any help would be appreciated.

We both use a GO Finder 66 and a panning kit with all the accessories.

Thankyou for any insight and tips and we will definitely be following people's posts for tips and maps on where to go

We are in rural NSW, so are limited on where we can go

Don't think anyone will give you maps, the hardest things with nsw is working out what is public access and what is offlimits and if the areas actually had coarse enough gold to detect.

About all you can do is what we all have done and get stuck into research , you will get area names of where to go like Hill End but no one will put a dot on a map for you and remember 1000s of people have detected these areas previously so you need to be smart, generally if your getting lead shot your got a chance of gold.

Biggest tip is you need to dig trash to be successful, most of us average 100 junk targets per gold nugget.

Goodluck and you already have gold if its a family day out.
