Ok so i own a AT Gold and when i was learning i thought anything around 40's was just foil or crap so always left these targets.

So yesterday my newly proposed to fiancee :D was down the beach with me and i said lets scan your ring ( 14k white gold ) and it crackled at 43

Now WTF lol i thought rings were in the 60's and upwards dependent the size or did Michael Hills sell me a dodgy ring lol

Who can give me the advice i was never told?

Quote from a post last year on P.A 9ct gold ring (med) mid tone ID 60 21/23cm
18ct gold ring (thin) mid tone ID 63 21/22cm

Gold, depending on composition, shape, size, porosity etc etc, can read anywhere from the iron range through to foil and beyond on a vlf. Air test ID's can differ completely when the same target is in the ground as well, so don't take air tests as gospel. As mentioned, if you want gold jewellery, you should dig everything in the lower to mid range.
