Hi Folks, got bored tonight so I thought I would run a few targets under the small coil to see what numbers we could come up with. The Racer has a fair old spread on the coin ID's, probably more than I realised when I saw what a 5c coin rang up at.

I also threw a few relic type items in there for a comparison, also as an example of why you should dig all items on older coin/relic sites - a shotgun cartridge end could actually turn out to be a gold half sovereign.

Also interesting to note the difference in ID's for various eras of pennies, put that down to coin thickness, oxidation etc. ;)

Nice list ! Im running the Racer 1 but the coins are different id's ??

Ive got
5c - 51 mid tone
10c - 55 mid tone
20c - 64/65 mid tone
50c - 70 mid tone
$1/2 - 82 hi tone

Test in three tone, strange they differ between the 1/2 , then again it might have different internals even tho they look slightly similar. Silly question but they are Australian coins yeh ?

I came across this old post while looking for something else, so thought I'd answer the questions. The reason for the difference above is I believe Goldpick was using the Racer 2, which uses a 0-10 ferrous ID, whereas the original red Racer has a 0-40 ferrous scale. So the conductive target ID's will be different.

Basically Racer 2 has a wider spread of target ID's.
