Total coincidence - I assure you as I had just gotten home after seeing a beautiful clear sky in Melbourne.
Anyway, let's hope it's a beaut for us all.

Got my Meade Astro 15x70 binoculars today, tripod and camera, heading out to
see if i can get some shots of the meteor shower at copeton dam.
Was out there there a couple of nights ago, surreal, you could nearly
touch the milky way, it seemed so close. 9 degrees here at the moment,
feels like minus 9. Yowies will be in bed i hope :argh:

Saw some fall, too quick for me, awesome sight though.
Got a lot to learn about taking photos of the stars.

Its not easy taking photos of 'Falling Stars'.... a wide angle lens and very slow shutter speed is all I know.... and luck..

I was up at about 3am this morning..[old man business]...had a smoke n saw 3 shooting stars within 10 mins...
...im out mt surprise tho'...no light pollution and its as dark as hell here with no moon..no cloud either.... :argh:

Well I saw about 6 for 35mins this morning. 7 degree temp and 30k winds encouraged me to go back to bed

Compared to the Geminida they're all pretty faint too.
